WHAT IS A MOOC AND WHAT ARE THEIR BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS?

                MOOCs are open online courses that provide FREE access to educational materials. MOOCs have a number of advantages:

• Courses are available to everyone, regardless of financial and demographic status.
• Flexible course schedule, you can start now and study at your own pace.
• Exchange of experience with teachers from universities in other countries.
• Opportunity to study with leading world experts.
• A variety of courses on modern, relevant topics.

                The main task of each higher education institution is to form a competent specialist, an individual. The introduction of massive open online courses into the educational process allows us to achieve this.
             Dulaty University is actively implementing the development of online courses for teaching staff on the MOOC platform Dulaty University moocs.dulaty.kz, and for the second academic year has been actively attracting students to study on the world-famous online course platform Coursera. Students study within the framework of the project “Coursera Kazakh language”, which allows free use of global digital libraries.
              MOOCs are used at the university as additional material, support for lectures/practical classes, and also as a component for independent work of students. Students not only have an excellent chance to “pump up” their knowledge, but also the received certificate will become an excellent component of the future portfolio.
